We got just a little carried away!

We haven't made freezer jam for a couple of years and my supply was depleted last spring so we decided to get together to make some. I bought 4 flats at Costco - but they held a little more than I thought they did.
Brennen and Ali helped out and Gary finally came to "Save the Day!" as he said. Anyway ....
We ended up with 87 containers full of yummy jam. Casey will be thrilled since we have PLENTY to share. What a feeling of accomplishment. On to peaches next week.

Happy Birthday!

I know, I know, I'm just a little late - what can I say - I'm over 50?! Anyway, Happy Birthday to Alison and Mom. We had three birthdays in a row and celebrated on Sunday night.

Yeah! It's my birthday!

Happy Birthday Meili! Sure wish we were there to see you eat your cake. Knowing how much you love food - it will be entertaining. As Uncle Terry would say, "I remember when we got you!" I will be forever grateful to have been part of the "Grand Adventure".

Finally done!

I finally got my quilt done. I was working on this in Washington when I was visiting my Dad before he died. It's been draped over my railing all summer just waiting to be quilted. I guess I've needed some "therapy" lately with all the crazy things happening around here so I sat down and got it done. I love the happy and cheerful colors and pattern. Guess it's time to start another one.

Lake Powell

Now that the coolers have been cleaned and the beach towels all washed, I had time to sort through some pictures of our trip to Lake Powell. As always, it was so fun. We went with our friends that we have gone to Lake Powell with for the past 19 years. This is the first time we have had all the kids together for several years. Even though we seemed to have people coming and going, it was way fun. I especially loved seeing the grandkids enjoy it as much as our kids did at the same age. Tyler and Matt's little girl Hope are the same age that our Casey and their Crissy were the first time we went to Lake Powell.
Mike tried to wakeboard. He certainly gets an A for effort. Next time, k?
You can tell Meili is Polynesian. Give her some sand and water and she is HAPPY!!! Do you notice she is the same color as the sand?
We had so much fun taking Tyler with us while his parents were still home (Cris had to shoot a wedding). He loves, loves, loves Lake Powell "to broken pieces" as he would say. He was our little tent buddy. He was filling up the water jugs the day after we got home because he had decided we needed to head back down there again. Sorry buddy, got to wait 'til next year.

Paul helped them build a volcano - I called him the Pied Piper because the little kids would follow him around.
Grandpa teaching the little guys how to build a sand castle.

Tradition. Debbie teaching the little kids how to line dance on the floating porta potty. And of course we had to play "Noodles" in the dark. We even saw a UFO - CREEPY!!!! Tube wars, Dutch oven dinners, midnight swims to cool off, bats, cliff jumping, good friends, and good times. What more could you ask for?
